The Creperie
We are Simon & Sonia, a husband & wife crêpe
making team. We both have a background in catering and over the years we
have ‘crêped’ at music festivals, craft fairs, garden shows, living
history events, car shows, steam fairs, most types of outdoor events!
We consider ourselves to be conscientious traders. We believe in a
fair price for everyone. We are as environmentally friendly as possible,
no plastic or polystyrene. We only use paper plates and cups and the
cutlery is made from sustainable wood.
We use fair-trade coffee, chocolate and bananas and we always attempt to
source our ingredients locally.

offers assistance with advocacy in courts and tribunals.
Founded in 2007 by Adrian Shryane B.A. (Hons) Law, solicitor, Adrian
attended a CSV New Business course in 2005, 'tested the market' with his
idea and then formed the business.

City of London), SHRYANE & CO. is a commercial organisation because it
offers services to clients around the world, not just in The United
Kingdom.

Barb Drummond -
Historian, Publisher & Photographer
I
had been a local historian for several years, with several articles
published in local journals but had no idea how to go further. With the
help of CSV business start up I put together a business plan to lead walks
and produce books.
The walks failed to take off but I have managed to produce 6 books in just
over two years, as well as being commissioned to do research for a local
museum and giving several history walks and talks.
By having a business advisor, I had the confidence to run a business, and
he is always there if I need to try out new ideas or discuss problems.
The computer centre is also very worthwhile as I have yet to earn enough
to buy up to date equipment.
I am now looking for an agent to get a proper publisher interested, so I
can move from being successful to actually making money from what I do.

Mr Alan Dean -
Stonemason/Sculpture
Alan
had studying as a mature student in stone masonry craft; he found it
increasingly difficult to find appropriate work. He decided that his best
option was to become self-employed and was referred by his local jobcentre
to CSV Avon Training to get his business started. Through the “New Deal
Business Start-up” option Alan was able to look at his market place,
explore contacts and develop networking opportunities to set up a business
that will be realistic and sustainable.
With help from an experienced business adviser, Alan was able to put
together a feasible and viable business plan that allowed him to apply for
funding.
The “Test Trading” has helped Alan to put his ideas into action and has
given him renewed enthusiasm for his work.
Lily Pattison - Textile
Print Designer
Lily’s
business idea was to produce and design textile prints for ladies wear,
swim and active wear. Having graduated from the University of the West of
England, Lily was referred to CSV Avon Training’s Business Start-up
course.
She has greatly valued the help and support she received whilst on the
“New Deal Test Trading” programme and this enabled her to develop a
business plan that gave her an insight to the market she wanted to enter.
She valued the support and encouragement she received at CSV and the
financial support of the New Deal programme.
Lily continues to trade successfully and has built up a wide range of
client contacts and increased her portfolio of products. |
